SiteSucker App Comentários

Improvement suggestion

Hi, some websites show fake alerts to avoid downloading, can you add new feature to auto-click on alert button ( for example cancel button) and after showing page continue downloading?

Lack basic browser functionality

The app does work as advertised but if you try to use it as a web browser it lack very basic functionality like adding pages to favorites. I downloaded a site containing a large library of music chords and I have access to everything I need now but with the live site I was able to quickly find what I am looking for using search or add some songs to my favorites, offline version does not support my account login as I would expect and also cannot execute search, so browsing through thousands of titles to find what you are looking for defeats the purpose of offline storage. Also the app start downloading the whole site the moment I put in the URL not allowing me to browse and download selecte content. I would suggest a number of improvements if this is to become really useful.

Good app

Good app, works pretty well

乱码

下载了24小时还在没完没了的下载,不知道到底行不行,离线打开里面内容都是乱码。钱扔水里了。

Almost perfect

I love the app it is amazing an one ov a kind as there is no other app i hav found that can do wat this one can i would hav given it 5 stars because it is well worth the money however i hav one small issue i wanted to say if i do anything else on my phone while it is downloading it stops an this is highly annoying it would be way better if it would do its thing in the back ground so u would be able to do other things while it is downloading i will update my review as i will most definitely be paying close attention to this apps progress and updates keep up the good work and thank you for doing what no one else has done

Please make it work with new google sites

Can’t get it to work with a website developed using new google sites. The platform seems to block it. Otherwise a great app.

Perfect

The app makes a pretty complex operation very simple. I have downloaded a bunch of documentation sites which I regularly use offline, and everything works flawlessly. This is a gem and should be better known.

Can’t use in Mac laptop or iPad

On Mac, it tells me I cannot download because I don’t have Mac 11.1 or better. 11.1 or better is not available yet. Can’t even update to that. On iPad Everything loads, and then files completed go to 0 but then nothing happens.

Increasing Rating

My earlier review only gave the app 3 stars because I was having trouble downloading sites. Truthfully, I now find that it is mostly due user error. So I’m increasing the rating to 4 Stars.

Awesome! But, one MAJOR thing....

If you just added this one thing, I would give this a million ⭐️ if I could. If it’s not too much to ask, could you make it where you can search for a webpage URL? I really, really, really need that.

Great - hopefully it improves further

Works as I would expect. I am not sure how it prioritises files when I limit the number of files. Hopefully its BFS ordering. Also it would be great if it could support websites that require authentication

IOS Secret Weapon?

Sometimes there is just no alternative. Be it for reasons of time, or perhaps the website is a mess, but, worthy of offline study. Frequently I use this iOS wget/curl type tool to create 'documentation' for apps (etc) that the creator does not supply a PDF user manual for. Which is perfectly understandable considering how difficult writing and constantly updating documentation can be. So when you want offline access to web-based (html) docs SiteSucker is about the best (only) option I've found for the restricted/handicapped iOS. If you haven't already, check out Dash.app too.

I cannot creat a folder

Clearly there is a create folder button showinig up when I click edit but it’s always greyed out, wonder what’s the purpose of it then

Cannot view offline/memory error

I paid and downloaded Site Sucker 3.0 for my iPad — I’m facing 2 problems: 1. I’m downloading a large blog and it has downloaded quite a bit but come up with an Insufficient Memory error. Will subsequent downloads be incremental? Should I keep on downloading over and over? 2. When I put my iPad on Airplane mode I get an error Failed to Connect to website ... the Internet connection appears to be offline. Isn’t the purpose of Site Sucker enable one to download a website for offline use? Please advise on how to fix these issues.

Troubleshooting

I am trying to download My website that I made via Squarespace through your app and it is not working. it keeps coming up with errors... it will only download a few images and then everything else becomes an error. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? Do I need to make my website “insecure”? Or does square space have a thing that blocks you from downloading the full site? Your contact is not working so posting this here

Really well made

Yeah, this app is amazing. Got it on my Mac and it worked perfectly so I picked it up here too. It’s a very niche functionality, but hey, if you need an app that does this, this one does it perfectly. Well worth the $5.

Excellent Support

I asked a question about my needs and this apps suitability and Rich got back to me with significant help. Even though this app is small, it has tremendous functionality. Thank you for the support Rick.

Probably the best $1.99 I’ve spent in 2018.

This is the kind of app that would get removed from the AppStore and you’d regret not purchasing. I fully support this developer and his project. There are literally so many things you can do with the resources this app provide. I don’t know where to begin. Best Httrak alternative there is. Thank you!!

Works extremely well

This exactly what I was looking for! -deep scans -creates an error log -able to export .zip of downloaded offline files, can export them to just about any app. -able to browse offline on iPhone Thank you for such a great app with all these features!!

Simply Perfect

Everyone knows that this is the best app of its kind because it's so easy to use and if you want to get technical, there's that part of the app, too. I have this app on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac for whatever reason.. (Why do I want to download websites so much?) I love the options and the limits I can set. There's a bunch more settings, too

Doesn't work

App is very finicky and usually doesn't work.

Does not work well

It worked okay and downloaded the website fast but only the index. None of the secondary pages downloaded or worked so the app was basically useless. The desktop one works great and is free this one was 2 bucks and didn't work. Thanks sitesucker.

Excellent app

Works great for storing whole site offline to read later. Easy to use and configurable.

Useless

I cannot view the saved pages in app or anywhere else. Very cryptic little app. Wasted money

Hidden Gem

This app is really amazing. I got it so I could cache a website for an upcoming international trip. It has so many useful settings, a great design, and above all- it works flawlessly. The developer's website has a thorough guide for configuration and advanced settings if you need it. Can't recommend it enough.

Exactly as advertised

Recursively pulls down a site for viewing offline. I wanted to read the entirety of a wordpress site including comments, and this worked really well. Thanks!

Sucked down a site.....but can't do anything with the file besides view it in app...

After sucking down a 192mb site I can view it...in app. Besides that I cannot export the files, zip it, or do anything else with it... Attempting to hit the export button just deletes the file from the list. What am I supposed to do to properly export this data? As of now it seems I just wasted my money on this.

Just what I needed

I'm leading a tour in an area that has no Internet access and need to have the material available on a related website during the tour. The website has many layers with maps and figures as well as text and images. This ap captured the entire website retaining the original organization. All the tabs work just like they do on the website; it's just as if I was connected to the site on the Internet but it's stored on my iPad. The capture was completely automated and consisted of several thousand files covering a couple of hundred pages. It's just what I needed. Great ap!

Five star app!

This app is great. I have used the version for Mac, also, and it seems like the iPhone version works just as well. It works great for downloading reading (or listening!) material before traveling.

developer

No iphone5 support. hasn't been updated since 2011. i learned the hard way. It has potential to be a good app.

Best $1.99 I've Ever Spent!

This will make my digital portfolio showcase for interviews look phenomenal on my iPad! So awesome! Can't wait to use it in action on Monday!!

It did exactly what I wanted

I downloaded 15,000 PDF files in one big swoop. I do wish that you could easily delete pages that I will never use. But I am happy

Does what it says

I bought 3 weg downloader apps at the same time and directed them to an engineering site. The first 2 only dowloaded the first page: I had to stop this app after it downloaded over 100 linked pages. So this definitely works. The problem is that you have to walk sequentially thru pages to get to a desired page: they are not separately indexed so that you can quickly see what was downloaded and then proceed directly to a page of interest. Hopefully the app will gain more versatility with time. In the meantime it's a very useful tool.

Finally a real site crawling offline browser app

OK, I read all of the reviews and sure there may be issues but this is the most complete website scraper, crawler, dumper, saver, sucker that is out there. It has regular expression support so you can control exactly what is and is not downloaded. I dumped a very complex site of over 2000 files in under 20 minutes which rivals my desktop crawler. The interface is minimalist but it got the job done and the saved site navigates exactly as I would expect. I would love to see support for tracing links in JavaScript and support for the standard .zip format for transferring saved websites between the iPad and the PC or Mac. Also, the author should use more "crawler" keywords in his app description and website since this app was almost impossible to find. Give it a try!

Good for Web Pages, no PDF rendering...

It would correctly download web pages from the simple sites, and would work reasonably well with the larger web sites (don't expect perfection there - most web downloaders can't do perfect job even on the desktop). However, if your site contains PDF documents, you wouldn't be able to view them. That is significant downside and is the problem developer should address.

Needed feature

I'm a developer myself and know that the comments are important. --would be nice to be able to browse the files downloaded and see the text in the HTMLs CSS js etc... I'm giving 3 stars for now, good work overall

Support is unresponsive

I purchased this app for my iPad and found that it does not completely download a functional web site as advertised. Repeatedly I have sent messages to the developer for some assistance without any response. If you are going to sell an app, answer you customers.

Worked Great

I needed a complete online manual for offline training. I entered the first page of the site and the progam did a beautiful job of downloading every page and level. I will buy the OSX version next.

Save your money

So you want to get everything from a site, right? Well this looks like it is doing it , BUT... It then assumes that all sites have a single starting point... WRONG! You end up being unable to view the results. Good idea, but Poor execution!
