SiteSucker App Reviews

Very dispointed

I thought a could have my internet site running in local, but in final it works...only with WIFI!!!!

Gute Idee - leider schlecht umgesetzt!

I didnt find the advanced settings first - theyre important, otherwise you cant set the depth, until which it sucks ;-) So if youre on settings, another "Settings" button appears in the left upper corner - easy to oversee - tap this, and youll find the advanced stuff... Works fine, like the Mac app.

Unhelpful error messages

Desktop version works, but iOS version doesnt. No indication of what the error message means.

Simply Perfect

Everyone knows that this is the best app of its kind because its so easy to use and if you want to get technical, theres that part of the app, too. I have this app on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac for whatever reason.. (Why do I want to download websites so much?) I love the options and the limits I can set. Theres a bunch more settings, too

Save your money

So you want to get everything from a site, right? Well this looks like it is doing it , BUT... It then assumes that all sites have a single starting point... WRONG! You end up being unable to view the results. Good idea, but Poor execution!

Worked Great

I needed a complete online manual for offline training. I entered the first page of the site and the progam did a beautiful job of downloading every page and level. I will buy the OSX version next.

Support is unresponsive

I purchased this app for my iPad and found that it does not completely download a functional web site as advertised. Repeatedly I have sent messages to the developer for some assistance without any response. If you are going to sell an app, answer you customers.

Needed feature

Im a developer myself and know that the comments are important. --would be nice to be able to browse the files downloaded and see the text in the HTMLs CSS js etc... Im giving 3 stars for now, good work overall

Good for Web Pages, no PDF rendering...

It would correctly download web pages from the simple sites, and would work reasonably well with the larger web sites (dont expect perfection there - most web downloaders cant do perfect job even on the desktop). However, if your site contains PDF documents, you wouldnt be able to view them. That is significant downside and is the problem developer should address.

Finally a real site crawling offline browser app

OK, I read all of the reviews and sure there may be issues but this is the most complete website scraper, crawler, dumper, saver, sucker that is out there. It has regular expression support so you can control exactly what is and is not downloaded. I dumped a very complex site of over 2000 files in under 20 minutes which rivals my desktop crawler. The interface is minimalist but it got the job done and the saved site navigates exactly as I would expect. I would love to see support for tracing links in JavaScript and support for the standard .zip format for transferring saved websites between the iPad and the PC or Mac. Also, the author should use more "crawler" keywords in his app description and website since this app was almost impossible to find. Give it a try!

Does what it says

I bought 3 weg downloader apps at the same time and directed them to an engineering site. The first 2 only dowloaded the first page: I had to stop this app after it downloaded over 100 linked pages. So this definitely works. The problem is that you have to walk sequentially thru pages to get to a desired page: they are not separately indexed so that you can quickly see what was downloaded and then proceed directly to a page of interest. Hopefully the app will gain more versatility with time. In the meantime its a very useful tool.

It did exactly what I wanted

I downloaded 15,000 PDF files in one big swoop. I do wish that you could easily delete pages that I will never use. But I am happy

Best $1.99 Ive Ever Spent!

This will make my digital portfolio showcase for interviews look phenomenal on my iPad! So awesome! Cant wait to use it in action on Monday!!

AWESOME

Awesome App But I Use The Mac One More.

developer

No iphone5 support. hasnt been updated since 2011. i learned the hard way. It has potential to be a good app.

Five star app!

This app is great. I have used the version for Mac, also, and it seems like the iPhone version works just as well. It works great for downloading reading (or listening!) material before traveling.

Just what I needed

Im leading a tour in an area that has no Internet access and need to have the material available on a related website during the tour. The website has many layers with maps and figures as well as text and images. This ap captured the entire website retaining the original organization. All the tabs work just like they do on the website; its just as if I was connected to the site on the Internet but its stored on my iPad. The capture was completely automated and consisted of several thousand files covering a couple of hundred pages. Its just what I needed. Great ap!

Sucked down a site.....but cant do anything with the file besides view it in app...

After sucking down a 192mb site I can view it...in app. Besides that I cannot export the files, zip it, or do anything else with it... Attempting to hit the export button just deletes the file from the list. What am I supposed to do to properly export this data? As of now it seems I just wasted my money on this.

Exactly as advertised

Recursively pulls down a site for viewing offline. I wanted to read the entirety of a wordpress site including comments, and this worked really well. Thanks!

Hidden Gem

This app is really amazing. I got it so I could cache a website for an upcoming international trip. It has so many useful settings, a great design, and above all- it works flawlessly. The developers website has a thorough guide for configuration and advanced settings if you need it. Cant recommend it enough.
